So, I was never one for the belt-bag trend. . . I actually hate it. It’s way too sporty for my taste and doesn’t fit my lifestyle. Being a commuter, I need a big-bag. When I see girls walking around Manhattan with their Nano Célines, I’m so jealous of the hands-free lifestyle they can live. I want to be you! Haha!
*FYI side note for all the fashion junkies out there:
I’m still continuing to use the accent in the Céline name, even though Hedi Slimane removed it when he took over the brand this year. Totally going off on a mini rant here, but sorry I have to vent for a sec. I’m totally against what he has done to the prestigious brand by removing everything the brand originally stood by. The latest show was such a disappointment and I’m very sad about it.
Anyway, back to belt-bags…
Never in a million years would I think the ugly “fanny-pack” from the 80’s + 90’s would resurface, but when it comes to fashion, never say never. Mom jeans, flare jeans, chokers and now fanny-packs! It all came back. I’m seriously considering keeping all of my “trendier” pieces in a box to give to my daughters later on in life. OMG what I would do for a pair of my mom’s Levi’s from the 80’s right now…
Being a fashion designer, I’m constantly looking at trends and what’s going on in the market. During my Spring 2019 Fashion Week research, this adorable bucket belt-bag kept popping up over and over again. Safe to say I instantly fell in love. Now this is a belt-bag I can get behind! I’m OBSESSED with the chic-er update to the extremely farty fanny [haha]. The micro size makes it more of an accessory rather than a bag. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! It takes a lot for me to obsess over a handbag being in the industry and constantly staring at bags all day, but this one stuck out.
Here I simply styled it with jeans as an actual belt, but there are endless ways to wear it! I want to try it over a dress and even over a blazer. So CHIC! What do you guys think about this bucket belt bag trend? Are you into it? Let me know in the comments below!
I’m linking the the original [splurge-worthy] one from NYFW, and the look-alike I bought […at an amazing price!]
Enjoy guys!
