If you’ve been following me for quite some time now, you might have seen my unboxing videos on Instastories from a company called Material World. Basically its a “fashion box” subscription where a personal stylist curates a custom box of designer items specifically for you! What’s great about this company is they pull from their archive of pre-owned clothes and accessories sent in from women just like us. This dosen’t mean everything you get is necessarily “pre-worn”. I’ve gotten quite a few items with original tags still attached (like these jeans)!
So, how do the stylists know what I like?!
I love this part. You fill out a Style Profile where they ask you all different types of questions such as what you like and don’t like, brands you wear, your sizes, and how much you are willing to spend on specific types of items. There is even a section where you can link your social media accounts so the stylists can take a peek at you and your style! I even included a link to my pinterest board where I keep all of my outfit inspiration images.
What if I don’t like what I get?
I’m usually very happy with the items picked out for me, but just in case you don’t love everything they provide a shipping bag and label for you to send the unwanted items back for free! There is absolutely no commitment to keep anything you don’t like. You can also pause or cancel your subscription anytime.
How much does this actually cost?
I’ve partnered with Material World to get my followers an awesome deal! By using my personal link (found here!), you only pay a $25 “Styling Fee” upfront. After you receive your box, the $25 goes towards anything you decide to keep. They include an invoice listing each item in your box with it’s price. You basically get a designer item anywhere from 70-90% off! You cannot get this kind of discount at any outlet or retail store.
Can I send items from my personal collection to Material World?
YES! Material World has a trade in program (found here!) where you can send your designer items in for cashback or Material World credit. Just make sure to check their Accepted Brands List for trade-ins. Drop your items in the return bag and they send you a quote for the item!
That’s it! It’s so much fun getting a box not knowing what’s inside. I feel like it’s my birthday every other month! Speaking of birthdays, this would actually be awesome gift for your bestie! I know for sure you guys won’t be disappointed.
